A guided portfolio project.
Bring your analytical work together in a reproducible project, a clear dashboard and a portfolio case study you can explain.
Northstar Shop
From a business question
to a portfolio you can explain.
A complete project.
A clear account of your work.
Connect preparation, metrics, investigation and dashboard design, then document your contribution in a reproducible portfolio case study. Every lesson includes an explanation, practical task and worked solution.
Before you start: Use the methods from Modules 1–5. Work locally with the supplied fictional Northstar data, a spreadsheet or SQLite, and a browser. Choose one primary analysis tool; HTML editing is optional.
Allow about seven hours including exercises. The suggested times are flexible. Keep your work locally; no upload or payment is required.
The capstone reuses the checked April–May case and asks you to build the evidence chain yourself. A complete worked case study and an independent extension example are supplied for comparison. Keep your own analysis editable.
8 lessons. One complete piece of work.
Turn the business question into a project plan
Define a manageable portfolio question and success criteria.
Prepare the source and preserve the correction evidence
Reconstruct a verified order population from the imperfect extract.
Build a reproducible analysis with explicit checks
Calculate consistent monthly and channel measures.
Investigate composition, concentration and missingness
Explain why the aggregate and segments tell different stories.
Build and test the project dashboard
Turn the project’s metric contract into a useful report.
Write a case study that connects evidence to a recommendation
Structure a concise case study around the analytical question.
Package reproducible evidence and describe your contribution
Organise sources, editable methods and outputs for review.
Add an independent extension and complete the final review
Choose a bounded extension without inventing new evidence.
From brief to evidence.
One complete practice pack.
Download and extract the complete pack to keep local evidence links working. Attempt each milestone before comparing the worked submission. Choose a spreadsheet or SQLite as your primary analysis route.
The data is reused unchanged from Module 4, and the dashboard reference is from Module 5. The SQL setup loads separate raw and verified tables; it does not automatically clean the source. Label guided material and your own contribution clearly. All records are fictional.
Can someone reproduce your answer?
Use the final lesson's 10-point rubric to review your work. A suggested target is 8 points, with no zero in preparation/reproducibility or metrics/checks and no unsupported causal claim. This is a self-review guide, not an accredited or automatically verified assessment.
