What the materials contain

A question, a method and a task.

DataCareerHub learning materials are prepared around analytical questions rather than isolated definitions. The Data Analyst Foundations sequence uses a connected fictional shop case: first defining the question, then carrying the work into Excel, SQL, exploratory analysis, dashboards and a guided portfolio project. Each authored module includes outcomes, detailed explanation, practical tasks and worked solutions. Readers can compare the reasoning as well as the final number.

The case files are intentionally small. You can inspect the records, follow the calculations and reproduce the totals without relying on an unexplained screenshot. Additional teaching fields or tables are identified in the data dictionary. These examples describe fictional activity and are not presented as client results.

Checks that can be reproduced.

For the Excel module, reference formulas were recalculated, tested with input changes, exported and reopened in the workbook tool. The course distinguishes that testing from execution in your own Excel edition. The native PivotTable is a task you create locally.

For the SQL module, the supplied queries were executed against the downloadable SQLite fixture. Its expected-results file records output columns and values, including intentional NULLs. Checks cover basic totals, line-item reconciliation and selected changes to a disposable copy. Passing those checks verifies the stated examples; it does not establish that every possible analysis or external dataset is correct.

For the exploratory-analysis module, raw and verified extracts, an issue log and checked summaries support a separate April–May case. The optional local script reproduces preparation, distributions, channel weights and delivery coverage. Source-backed corrections are kept separate from sensitivity scenarios, and missing measurements remain visible.

For the dashboard module, a static offline example reuses the verified extract. Its period/channel calculations are checked against expected states, including unavailable comparisons and an empty practice selection. The scaffold is clearly distinguished from the working example. Visual checks and selected keyboard checks are not presented as a full accessibility certification.

The guided portfolio capstone connects the earlier case to a project plan, preparation evidence, reproducible queries, a dashboard and a written case study. The source and reused references are identified. Worked examples are distinguished from a learner’s own implementation and independent extension.

Tool versions, units, row grain, reporting periods and necessary assumptions are documented in the lessons and practice guides. Where a function or interface depends on an edition, the lesson explains that boundary and links to the relevant official documentation.

Practice at your own pace.

Published free lessons can be read without creating an account. Download the files, work locally and try each task before opening its solution. The in-page knowledge questions provide immediate practice feedback. They do not execute arbitrary SQL, assess a complete workbook or certify professional competence.

Existing account holders can use available progress features. A course's access level is shown before protected content opens. Public registration, new paid enrolment and online payments remain paused while the commercial workflow is prepared. Creating an account does not itself purchase a course or grant paid access.

Modules are listed when published. Future topics can appear in a planned outline, clearly separated from available lessons. A planned title is not a promise that the full module is already available.

Updates and corrections.

Authored lessons display a curriculum version so readers can identify the edition they used. When a calculation or explanation changes, the related example, files and answer checks should be reviewed together. Keep your downloaded version with your notes so you can compare it with a later revision.

If you find a problem, send the lesson link, curriculum version, query or cell reference, and the result you expected. Use fictional or redacted examples; do not send passwords, private database connections or confidential client records. We can use a reproducible report to investigate and improve the material.

Clear expectations.

Practice work can help you build a portfolio and explain your approach. Label the case as fictional and distinguish guided work from your own extensions. Course progress and self-review rubrics are learning aids. Employment, salary, certification and business outcomes are not guaranteed.

For a real reporting, data-quality or analysis requirement, send an enquiry to discuss scope separately. Public course exercises do not create a client engagement. Our combined Policy page explains website terms, privacy and request options.
