MODULE 06 — GUIDED PORTFOLIO WORKSHEET
Keep source files unchanged. Record your method and evidence locally.

1. Turn the business question into a project plan
Read project_brief.txt and write your own one-page plan. Define the reader, decision, reporting period, grain, eligibility, currency, missing inputs, primary tool and acceptance criteria. Create a local project folder with source, preparation, analysis, presentation and review areas, or a simpler equivalent structure. Deliverable: the project plan and a list of eight milestones. State how you will identify guided material and your own contribution. Do not begin by copying the worked case study’s conclusion into an otherwise empty template.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

2. Prepare the source and preserve the correction evidence
Recreate preparation from the raw extract on your own local copy. Write an eight-entry issue log, resolve both repeated-key groups and apply only documented or reference-backed field corrections. Preserve genuine delivery blanks. Run P1/P2 if using SQLite, or perform equivalent key and field checks in your spreadsheet. Deliverable: a prepared file, correction log and row bridge. Compare all retained fields against orders_verified.csv by ID. Explain the role of the supplied reference and state what would remain unresolved if that authority were unavailable.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

3. Build a reproducible analysis with explicit checks
Complete P3–P6 in SQLite or build equivalent spreadsheet summaries. Produce monthly value/count/AOV, delivery measured/missing/coverage, channel metrics with order shares and the May-versus-April value comparison. Reconcile both monthly counts and values, then name the two returned-share denominators in P5. Deliverable: an editable query script or calculation workbook, a short metric contract and a verification table. Record expected/observed values and explain how NULL, blanks and numeric zeros are represented in your tool.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

4. Investigate composition, concentration and missingness
Complete P7/P8 and prepare a small investigation page. Include actual weighted AOV equations, an explicitly hypothetical equal-mix comparison, the distribution/verified high-value observation and a delivery-coverage table. Write one alternative explanation for the aggregate change and one source request that would help assess it. Deliverable: a labelled baseline/sensitivity table and a concise investigation note. Keep every exclusion, scenario weight and population change visible. Do not change the source merely to improve the appearance of a trend.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

5. Build and test the project dashboard
Build a dashboard or clearly labelled static report from your own analysis. Include headline measures, monthly and channel views, current scope, coverage, narrative and definitions. Run the seven interaction/review states listed in the lesson, using equivalent static views if needed. Deliverable: an editable report and a state-test record with expected/observed values, pass/fail and unresolved issues. Compare the supplied reference after attempting your own version and label any reused guided elements.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

6. Write a case study that connects evidence to a recommendation
Use project_starter.html or your own document to write a case study with question, source/preparation, method, findings, limitations, recommendation and contribution sections. Add a 120–180 word decision note. Link at least three substantive claims to a query or worksheet reference. Deliverable: your case study and decision note. Review whether a reader can identify the population, reproduce the important numbers and distinguish your own work from the guided references without reading these lessons first.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

7. Package reproducible evidence and describe your contribution
Create a clean local sharing copy containing your case study, source/prepared files, correction log, metric contract, editable analysis, dashboard and verification record. Write a README that identifies the opening file, tool requirements and reproduction steps. Check all links from that actual folder. Deliverable: your evidence pack and a short contribution statement. Distinguish supplied data/templates/solutions from work you performed. No upload or external publication is required by the exercise.

My method / result / checks / remaining questions:

8. Add an independent extension and complete the final review
Choose one extension and write its question, population, method and checks before calculating. Produce a small result table and a 60–100 word interpretation. Perform one changed-input test in a disposable copy and record expected/observed behaviour, then restore the baseline source. Final deliverable: your complete project, independent extension, ten-point self-review and two-minute presentation outline. Use review_rubric.txt. Aim for at least eight with no zero in preparation/reproducibility or metrics/checks; no course upload, payment or public registration is needed.
