Northstar Shop / Learner wireframe
Build a dashboard someone can use.
This is a layout scaffold, not a finished dashboard. Recreate it in your spreadsheet or dashboard tool, or edit a local copy of this HTML. Start from orders_verified.csv. No coding is required if you use your existing spreadsheet skills.
1. Write the decision and scope
Who will read this? What decision is next? Define the period, channel, completed-order population and EUR units.
2. Compare monthly totals
Use EUR labels and a zero baseline for bars. Show the selected period and chart values in a table.
3. Explain channel differences
Show channel AOV, order count and share. Keep the sparse April store group visible.
4. Write the explanation
Observation → context → limitation → next action. Match the text to the current filter. Distinguish baseline, exclusions and hypothetical mix scenarios.
5. Make the prototype reviewable
- Add period and channel filters to your own build. Use May/All as the initial state; test April, combined months, Web and Store. This wireframe has no working filter controls.
- Do not fabricate a March comparison. Use an unavailable state when the prior period is absent or its value is zero.
- Create an empty-selection test. Count and additive total can be zero; AOV and coverage require an eligible denominator.
- Keep a data table and explicit units beside charts. Check keyboard order, contrast, narrow screens and readable text.
- Compare with expected_states.json after attempting the task. Record pass/fail evidence in your own review notes.
Download and keep your own editable files. This scaffold does not save work, receive uploads or calculate metrics. Use the separate worked example after trying the exercises.
